Thick, crusty garlic bread goes so well with so many dishes. It's so easy to make and just tastes so much better than the store bought stuff. Give your family a treat and make some tonight! |
Ingredients Bread Stick (French sticks work well) Garlic (fresh crushed or a jar of minced) Fresh parsely Butter or Margarine Note, there are no quantities because you can make it as strong or mild as you like, and any leftover garlic butter can be stored in the refridgerator for just as long as regular butter. |
Method Soften the butter, in the microwave until it is just soft. (Alternatively you can add a bit of olive oil to it and mix until soft) Mix in the desired amount of garlic and parsley. Cut the bread stick diagonally, but not quite all the way through to the bottom. Butter each side of each slice with the garlic butter mix, taking care not to snap the stick if possible. Wrap the entire stick in aluminium foil and place in the oven at 180 degrees C. After approximately 10 minutes, you can unroll the foil and finish the cooking of the garlic bread for roughly 5 minutes. This will make the bread crunchier than if you leave it rolled up. Enjoy! |
